Salem, Ore| The Knights fell to Corban University tonight with a final score of 72-55. The game stayed back and forth with the Knights trailing by five at halftime. However, as the game progressed, Corban found their stride as they put up 26 in the fourth quarter and the Knights were unable to answer.
Even though the fourth quarter was rough, the Knights fought hard and showed real promise for the rest of the game. They made eight threes, secured 10 offensive rebounds, had two steals, and even had two blocks during the game. But, with every positive comes a struggle and for the Knights it came within their shooting percentage. Within field goal range, the Knights were 21-64 shooting 32.8%. Attempts from beyond the arc were not much better as they went 8-21 with a 38.1%.
Three names stood out during the game as they combined for 43 of the Knights points. The first was Junior Skylar Groesbeck who scored 17 points off the bench. Second was Senior Guard Amayla Sales who made four threes and accounted for 14 points. Finally, is Senior Emily Fortin who had five rebounds along with her 12 points scored.
The Knights will continue their road trip tomorrow in Eugene as they take on the Beacons of Bushnell University at 3pm. They will then return home and play George Fox University for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday December 10th at 6pm.
