Eugene, Ore.| In their second trip to Eugene, the Knights suffered their third conference loss of the season against the Bushnell Beacons with a final score of 67-46. The first quarter was the Knights strongest as they found themselves leading by one. However, the Beacons used the break to their advantage and never looked back, holding the Knights to under 10 points in two quarters.Â
Shooting was once again the Knights struggle as they only made 15 of their 44 of their field goal attempts and three of their 11 three point attempts. Their best shooting percentage was 65% at the free throw line where they made 13. Even though offense was a struggle, defensively the Knights were able to fight back. They had 31 rebounds, four steals, two blocks and caused 15 turnovers. Those turnovers were also able to lead to 10 points.Â
Individually, the Knights were led in scoring by Senior Amayla Sales who put up 11. She was followed by Sophomore Alex Saunders who had nine. Defensively, Junior Skylar Groesbeck showed out having six rebounds, two steals and a crucial block.
The Knights will return home on Tuesday December 10th to play George Fox University at 6pm. They will then go back on the road, traveling to McMinnville, Oregon to play Linfield University on Saturday the 14th. Tip off is set for 5:30 pm.
