Knights Lose to 6th Ranked LCSC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 17th, 2024

Lewiston, Idaho.| The Knights had a tough challenge this afternoon taking on Lewis-Clark State College who is the 6th ranked team in the nation. The Knights lost the game 89-70.

The Knights started as slow as you can start both offensively and defensively scoring just 4 points in the first quarter on 2-13 shooting on a bucket from Larsa Guzman and Emily Brown. The Knights gave up 31 to the Warriors in the quarter behind 8 points from star player, Callie Stevens

The second quarter proved to be better for the Knights from both an offensive and defensive perspective scoring 13 points compared to the Warriors' 24. The Knights at the half 55-17.

The second half for the Knights was much more productive. The Knights actually dominated the second half winning 53-34 ending the road trip on a decent note. Unfortunately, even with the second half being so positive for the Knights, the final score still favored the Warriors by 19.

Emily Brown once again had a huge game for the Knights almost getting her second double double in as many days with 19 points, 8 boards, and 2 assists. McKeeley Tonkin had her best scoring output of the season scoring 18 points, adding 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. Teirra Hicks checked in with 11 points of her own to help the Knights.

The Knights even after shooting a tough first half percentage, ended up shooting 45.2% for the game thanks to a 64.71% third quarter and 61.11% fourth quarter. The Knights are now 6-18 overall and 4-16 in conference play.
