FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 23
rd, 2024
Sandy, Ore.| The Knights were only able to get one game in today in their doubleheader against 15
th ranked Eastern Oregon before the weather took hold and postponed the second game.
Game One
The Knights in game faced Mountaineer's starter, Kylie Hoskins who last year pitched 13 innings against the Knights giving up just 2 hits. This year was more of the same. Hoskins pitched the full 5 innings and gave up just one hit.
Nikki O'Reilly got the only hit for the Knights in the bottom of the fifth inning when she beat out an infield hit due to the EOU second-baseman shifting closer to first base.
Kili Makanani got the start today and she went an inning giving up seven runs.
Abby Carlson came on in relief and pitched decently giving up four runs in four innings of work. Both pitchers didn't pitch poorly. Eastern Oregon is a very good hitting team that can hit the ball even when a pitch is located perfectly.
Game Two
The second game of today's doubleheader was postponed due to pouring rain and hail that hit the Sandy area at the conclusion of game one. The second game will be moved to tomorrow at 12pm. Game three will be moved to 2pm tomorrow and game four will be canceled.
