Knights Lose Two in Idaho

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 29th, 2024
 
Caldwell, Idaho.| The Knights played the 22nd ranked team in the nation today in the form of College of Idaho and fell in both games.
 
Game One
The Yotes showed their power and skill scoring 11 runs on 12 hits including 2 home runs. The Knights were held to no hits in this game. They nearly got a hit in the first inning when Jordyn Rosario laid a bunt down that the pitcher fumbled and was scored by the statistician as an error.
 
Nia Tate started the game going 1.2 innings giving up four runs on four hits all earned. Briana Munoz came on in relief and gave up seven runs on eight hits all earned.
 
Game Two
The second game started out tough for the Knights as they saw the Yotes score ten runs in the first inning that featured a two-run homer and a three-run homer. The Knights were able to get two runs in the second inning in this game. Lauren Amesquita hit a single driving in Maddie Gamble who singled to leadoff the inning. Marin Bliss picked up the second RBI when she smacked a double down the left field line scoring Amesquita. The Knights four total hits in the game.
 
Abby Carlson started the game and unfortunately gave up five runs without recording an out. Nia Tate came on in relief and pitched three innings giving up six runs all earned. Kili Makanani pitched the final inning giving up two runs.
 
Next Up
The Knights will rest up and be back at Symms Field tomorrow with games starting at 10am and 12pm in Caldwell, Idaho.
