Knights Move To 4-0 Against Linfield Amidst McMinnville Air Show

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 2nd, 2024

McMinnville, Ore.| The Knights played on Labor Day today against NCAA DIII Linfield University and won the match by a final of 3-1 while the McMinnville airshow happened simultaneously overhead.

The night started out fun with fighter jets flying overhead in formation and Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins playing over the Wildcats PA system. The Knights started their own airshow in the 16th minute when Chanin Orlandin sent a beautiful ball in that was met by the head of Antonio Cipriano and put in the back of the net. With momentum on their side, the Knights went right back to work and scored again in the 18th minute when Gabriel Rincon sent a ball about 30 yards downfield to a streaking Chanin Orlandin who made light work of his defender scoring for the third time this season. Unfortunately, in the 25th minute the Knights gave up a goal of their own putting the game back within reach for the hometown Wildcats.

The Knights and the Wildcats played some pretty intense ball in the second half with the Knights holding onto their one goal lead. The Knights looking to build on their lead were able to do just that right before the game ended in the 89th minute. Gabriel Rincon sent a ball high up in the air which was headed by a Wildcat right into the lap of a streaking Abe Fuchs who finished the job stretching the lead to 3-1. The Knights won the shot battle 15 to 12 and had 7 shots on goal to 6 for the Wildcats.
