Portland, Ore.|Â The Knights Men's Basketball Program beat the Wolves of Walla Walla 83-79 behind 20 points from
Matt Solomon.
The game was very close as the Knights and wolves went back and forth during the first half and eventually found themselves tied at 40 a piece going into half time. The second half started to look the same, but the Knights were able to string together the needed points to secure the win.
Four players for the Knights scored double digit points. Matt Soloman led the charge with 20,
Terrin Dickey followed with 15,
Sean Johnson put up 14, and Senior
Vincent Warren had his season high of 10. Of note,
Sean Johnson went over 1000 points in his career today hitting a three from free-throw line extended.Â
Defensively, both
Jurrien Sparks and
Vincent Warren each had seven boards. Even though a few players put up big numbers, the team as a whole was able to come together and each individual found a way to make a big contribution to the win.
The team itself put up great numbers offensively and defensively. Offensively, the Knights made 11 threes, 30 field goals, and shot 63% from the line. They made 24 second chance points and even scored 10 points off of turnovers. The best team stat was their 11 assists leading to the win. Defensively they had 43 rebounds, 15 of which were offensive. They also had six steals and caused 10 turnovers.

The Knights next game is tomorrow when the 15th ranked Lewis-Clark State Warriors come to town. The Knights will then take on the Oregon Tech Owls on Friday, January 10th at 7:30pm.
