Linden Mauer Scores First Goal in 4-0 Win

Portland, Ore.| Knights Men's Soccer took on Walla Walla today out at Eastside Timbers Complex and took home a satisfying 4-0 victory .

In an impressive 4-0 victory against the Walla Walla Men's soccer team, the Knights must have been inspired by the Women's team, who just before this matchup beat the Women's Walla Walla team 4-0. The big day on offense started early in the 5th minute with an assist from a goal from freshman Linden Maurer assisted by Uriel Rueles Gonzalez. It was Maurer's first collegiate goal. The Knights in the 41st minute right before halftime would score again when Sergio Verela sent a beauty to Mario Jauregui who snuck it by the Wolves keeper. In the second half, the Knights would not let up. Musa Jatta in the 65th minute put another goal in with an assist by Abe Fuchs. To finish the scoring, Wicho Gonzalez earned the fourth goal for the Knights with Abe Fuchs getting his second assist in the match. Owen Purvis got his first start in goal and earned a clean sheet winning his first game.

Next Up
The Knights now with a 3-game winning streak has a 4-2 conference record. They will head up to Kirkland, Washington next Friday to play against Northwest University. Kickoff is set for 3pm.
