Billings, Mont.| Knights Men's Soccer had their second game in Montana today and took on Rocky Mountain College. Today's match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Warner Pacific and Rocky Mountain put on a great show but led to no winner with a 2-2 draw. The Knights started it early, as Brian Canela wasted no time and scored in the first 2nd minute. Rocky Mountain tied the game on a penalty kick with David Russell scoring in the 31st minute. Momentum continued to tilt the Battlin' Bears' way just before halftime when in the 44th minute Lorenzo Klamler put one in assisted by Cody Bennett and Luke Tooze gave the Bears a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Rocky Mountain peppered the Knights defense with 13 shots after halftime but Warner Pacific held strong. In the 75th minute, Bodo Calderon stepped up to take a penalty kick and put it in to tie the match at 2-2. The final minutes were filled, whistles and yellow cards and even a red card but no more scoring would be done. The red card was handed out to RMC's Rory O'Donnell when he decided to kick a ball as hard as he could at the Knights bench before a throw-in.
The Knights with the conclusion of this weekend have clinched a playoff spot and are one of four teams that have with just a few games left to play.
Next Up
The Knights come back to Portland as they have their final two matches before the start of the conference tournament. They play the 31st at 2:30pm and take on Southern Oregon University at the Eastside Timbers Sports Complex.
