Redding, California.| Warner Pacific Knights Women's Basketball had a tough game against Simpson University tonight falling by a final score of 72-60.
The Knights were led by
Riley Layton tonight who had 18 points tonight going 6-8 from the field including going 6-9 from the charity stripe.
Kiki Brooks found herself in double figures as well with 12 points. Brooks almost had a double double as well grabbing seven rebounds.
Kayla Kasubuchi and
Bryten Gumke each followed with seven. Gumke hit a three at the halftime buzzer to give the Knights a 29-26 lead going to the locker room.
"It's hard to win on the road." Head Coach Jimmy Smith said. "We missed on a few opportunities to help ourselves out but it's early in the year and we will look to bounce back tomorrow."
As a team the Knights shot a cool 32.7% from the field going just 6-22 from distance. The Knights shot a ton of free throws with 35 but unfortunately were only able to knock down 22 of them. The Knights best shooting quarter was the second where they went 8-14 from the field good enough for 57.14%.

The Knights will be back at it again tomorrow evening at 6pm against Pacific Union College also on Simpson Universities campus at the James M. Grant Center.
