Portland, Ore.| The Knights Men's Basketball team had their home opener tonight as they took on Embry-Riddle and fell by a final score of 89-77.
The Knights were led by Jurrien Sparks, who had a dominant performance with 29 points going 10-14 from the field and a near perfect 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Chad Napoleon provided a huge spark off the bench, adding 22 points and 8 rebounds on 8-for-18 shooting. Nico Perez-La Costa also delivered off the bench, going 4-4 on free throws from the floor and contributing 10 points. Warner Pacific was impressive at the free throw line, putting up 82.4% (14–17) of their attempts.
Embry-Riddle displayed a balanced attack, with Noah Gifft leading all scorers with 28 points, while Jacey Canalin added 21. The Eagles held a 41–32 rebounding advantage.
Next Up
The Knights will continue their non-conference portion of their schedule tomorrow and will face Willamette University at 4pm. Willamette will be coming off of an overtime win tonight where they scored 109 points.
