Portland, Ore.| Warner Pacific Men's Basketball came out hunting for a win as they hosted Bushnell University and in one of the more entertaining games you'll ever see, the Beacons pulled off the win 86-76.
For Bushnell, their scoring leader was Kaleb Burnett with 23 points while adding eight rebounds. Cory Johnson was also big for the Beacons, putting up 19 points and 12 rebounds for a double double. Squeeky Johnson gave Bushnell a huge spark as well, living behind the three-point line knocking down five threes for 16 points. As a team, Bushnell shot 63% from the field and 61% from deep in the second half giving them enough juice to get the win in a tight game.
Warner Pacific stayed competitive behind
Josh Lincoln and
Chad Napoleon. Lincoln was nearly perfect from the field, scoring 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting, while Napoleon added 17 points and eight rebounds.
Jurrien Sparks had his own 15 to keep the Knights within reach. Despite shooting 60% in the second half, Warner Pacific blew a five point lead with just a few minutes left in the game to lose.
Next Up
The Knights will get a change of scenery next week as they head up to Tacoma, Washington. They are set to face off against Pacific Lutheran University at Olson Gymnasium next Friday with tip scheduled for 7pm.
