Bash Sisters Homer Again in Losses to Simpson

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - February 23rd, 2025

Redding, Calif.| Knights Softball lost both games in their double header against Simpson University with scores of 11-9 and 8-2.

The first game started off well as the Knights went up by five in the first, but were unable to hold the Redhawks off of a comeback. In game two, the Knights met their match giving up eight combined runs in five innings of play.

Game one
In game one the Knights came out hot scoring five runs in the first inning. The Redhawks answered back but still trailed by two. Then in the third, the Knights found a few more runs which extended their lead 8-4. The Redhawks however, were able to have a few big innings following that to complete the comeback.

Individually, the Knights were led by Kili Makanani who had two hits with three RBI's for the Knights and her third home run of the season. She also logged four strikeouts in six innings from the circle. Nikki O'Reilly also had a bomb which accounted for her second one of the season.

Game two
In the second game the Knights were able to strike first but the lead did not last for long as Simpson totaled five runs in the first three innings of play. The Knights tried to fight back, adding on another run in the sixth but it was not enough to catch up to the Redhawks lead.

Even though the Knights took another loss, there were a few players who stood out. The first was Jordyn Rosario who had two hits and one RBI for the Knights. She was assisted by Maddie Gamble who had one hit and the Knights second RBI of the day.
