Milwaukie, Ore.| In their first two conference games of the season, the Knights fell to Southern Oregon University with scores of 8-0 and 4-2.Â
In game one the Knights were unable to get on the board and in game two were met with a tough sixth inning.
Game One
In game one, Southern Oregon came out swinging, scoring three in the first, two in the third and three in the fifth. The Knights were unable to answer back but held them to zero runs in the second and fourth innings. The Knights only hit of the day came from Ashley Fritz.
Game two
Game two was a completely different story as the Knights led until the sixth inning when Southern Oregon put up three runs to take the lead and the win. The Knights scored one run in the second and one in the third but it was not enough for the win.
In game two the Knights rained hits on Southern Oregon with Maddie Gamble and Kiara Kamimae both having two hits. Hailey Ferguson and Kili Makanani had the Knights' RBI's and Skylar Groesbeck had her first triple of the season. In the circle, Briana Munoz went all six innings with no walks to keep Southern Oregon at bay all game.
Next Up
The Knights will be back at it in Ashland, Oregon against Southern Oregon tomorrow. Game times are set for 11am and 1pm. The Knights will then head home next week for a four game series against University of British Columbia on Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th. Friday's games are set to start at 12pm and 2pm at Milwaukie High School.Â
