Portland, Ore.|Â In their second to last home stand of the season, the Knights women's basketball squad fell 94-71 against Northwest University.Â
The first half was slow for the Knights but they were able to claw their way back, finding themselves down 45-32 at half. The second half was better but not enough as the Eagles kept their lead against the Knights.
As a team the Knights were able to put up a 41% shooting percentage over the course of the game. Defensively, they had 34 rebounds and 18 points off of Eagle turnovers. Their deficit came in the defense of threes as Northwest University made 16 to keep the lead over the Knights.
Individually, the Knights were led by graduate student McKeely Tonkin who had 13 points on the night with six rebounds. She was followed closely by Senior
Emily Fortin and Junior
Skylar Groesbeck who both had 12.
The Knights aren't looking for excuses but Northwest shot 16-21 from deep good enough for 76% which was a huge contributing factor in the 23 point loss.
