Makanani and Munoz Hit Dingers in Losses to EOU

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 22nd, 2025

La Grande, Ore.| The Knights fell in their first two games of four against Eastern Oregon University. Game one finished with a final score of 8-0 and the second ended 15-2 with both games ending after the fifth inning.

Game one
In game one the Knights offense were shut down from the start and Eastern Oregon capitalized on some slow innings. Offensively, Briana Munoz led the Knights in hits with two, with Hailey Ferguson following with one of her own. In the circle, Kili Makanani went 4.2 innings, and totaled 4 strikeouts during the game. 

Game two
In game two the Knights bats woke up as they scored one in the second inning and one in the third. However, this was not enough as Eastern Oregon put up a five spot in the third and a six spot in the fourth. The two runs were thanks to seven hits by the Knights with RBI's from Makanani and Munoz who both had home runs on the day. For Makanani it was her fourth long ball of the season and the first for Munoz.

Up next
The Knights will continue their four game set against Eastern Oregon tomorrow. Game one is set to start at 11am and the second game at 1pm. The Knights will then return home next weekend to take on College of Idaho at home.
