FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 23rd, 2025
La Grande, Ore.| In their second double header of the weekend against Eastern Oregon University, the Knights dropped two games with scores of 11-3 and 9-5. Both of Eastern Oregon's wins came with some big innings, and while the Knights were able to score it was not enough to come back.
Game one
In game one the Knights fell short due to a big nine run inning in the bottom of the second for the Mountaineers. The Knights scoring was also held until the top of the fifth where they did manage to score three runs but it was not enough to catch Eastern Oregon. With those three runs came a good offensive game from Noe Barawis who had a hit, RBI and was herself one of the Knights' runs. In the circle, Nia Tate came in relief, and threw three innings. She was able to log two strikeouts and only give up one earned run.
Game two
In game two the Knights were able to hold the game close for a large portion of the game. They scored two in the first, one in the second and two in the third inning. This caused the game to be tied at 5-5 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Eastern Oregon put up a long four run inning that eventually won them the game.
At the plate, two Knights went yard. The first was Kili Makanani who added another to her season. The second was Hailey Ferguson who hit her first bomb of the season and her first in her collegiate career. In the circle, Taylyn Lampo got her first start of the season and threw a clean first inning and allowed only two runs.Â
Up next
The Knights will return home next weekend for a four game series against the College of Idaho Yotes. The first two games will be on Friday 3/28 with start times of 10am and 12pm. Then on Saturday, the Knights will host the Yotes again at 11am and 1pm. All games are set to take place at Milwaukie High School.
