Knights Drop Two to the Yotes

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 28th, 2025

Milwaukie, Ore.| In the first set of double headers against the College of Idaho, the Knights softball team ended the day with two losses.

The first game finished with a score of 4-0 where the College of Idaho put up two, two run innings to secure the win. In game two the Knights lost 11-3, due to a big five run inning by the yotes.

Game one
In game one the Knights were in striking distance the entire game. The Yotes put up two in the top of the second, but were held scoreless until the seventh when they put up two more. The Knights were able to put up a few hits as well, but they were not enough to take the lead.

Offensively, the Knights saw two doubles from second base-woman Hailey Ferguson. These were her first two doubles of the season. In the circle, Kili Makanani was able to mow down five College of Idaho batters in seven innings, but this wasn't enough to keep the Yotes at bay.

Kili Makanani was phenomenal today in the circle against a lethal Yotes offense holding them to just four earned runs, striking out five, and walking only three.

Game two
In game two the Knights came out hunting, putting up a run in the bottom of the first to take the lead. However, the Yotes answered back with three in the second and then five in the fourth to take a significant lead. The Knights did put two more across in the bottom of the sixth, but it was not enough. At the plate, Kiara Kamimae added another hit and two more RBI's to her season. Noe Barawis also extended the stolen base record with two more to her season total.

Up next
The Knights will once again be at home for their final two games against The College of Idaho. These games are set to take place at Milwaukie High School with start times of 11am and 1pm. Following this home series the Knights will hit the road, driving over to Helena, Montana to play Carroll College in a four game set on April 4th and April 5th.
