Milwaukie, Ore.|Â In their second set of double headers, the Knights Softball Program split with University of British Columbia with both games ending 1-0.Â
The first game which ended in a win was a very clean game of defense. In game two, which went eight innings, was clean as well with British Columbia scoring one run in the top of the eighth.
Game one
Game one saw a great win in favor of the Knights as they scored their run in the bottom of the fourth inning. This run came from a single by
Briana Munoz who scored
Kili Makanani.
Maddie Gamble and
Nia Tate also logged hits for the Knights. In the circle, the Knights saw the rubber arm of
Briana Munoz back in action as she went all six innings. She was able to have a strike out with no walks and no earned runs.
Briana Munoz was an absolute workhorse this weekend logging 272 total pitches in 19 innings striking out six batters and walking only four.
Game two
In game two the Knights lost on an unearned run in extra innings. Offensively, the Knights bats started to come alive with five players logging hits.
Hailey Ferguson and
Nikki O'Reilly were able to get back on track as both logged singles with O'Reilly also having a stolen base. Pitching wise
Nia Tate went for her longest outing of the year, going all eight innings with one strike out and no earned runs.
Next Up
The Knights will be at home next weekend against the University of Providence. All four games will take place at Milwaukie High School. Friday's game times are yet to be determined while Saturday's slate begins at 11am and 1pm.
