Knights Get to Ten Wins For First Time Since 2021

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 17th, 2025

Salem, Ore.| In their final away series of the year,  Warner Pacific Knights softball started off day one with a split against Corban University.

Game one ended in a dramatic fashion with the Knights going down on a suicide squeeze bunt to lose 3-2 in extra innings. Game two however was a complete turn of the tables. The Knights put their foot on the gas winning 10-2 in seven innings.

Game one
In game one the Knights played one of their closet games of the year. They once again went to extra innings with Corban scoring one run in the first and one run in the second, but were then held quiet until the eighth inning. The Knights scored two runs in the top of the fifth but the tie was not enough as Corban found a way to score the walk off run in the bottom of the eighth.

Noe Barawis had another great game with two hits, one stolen base and one run. She was aided by Hailey Ferguson who had a hit and an RBI along with Kili Makanani who had a double and the Knights other RBI. Makanani also had a great game in the circle going 7.1 innings with only five hits allowed.

Game two
In game two the Knights acted as if they were deadly assassins. They scored one run in the first, and two in the third. After that they waited quietly until delivering a seven run blow in the top of the seventh to take the win. Corban did try to string together some hope in the final inning of play but they could not match the power of the Knights.

While the win was a team effort a few players stood out in the circle and at the plate. Briana Munoz allowed only two runs, off of seven hits in seven innings. Munoz also had two hits and a double at the plate. This powerful pitching performance opened the way for the Knights offense to do their job. Noe Barawis had a career high in hits with four and added three more stolen bases to her season total. Barawis was not the only one who had a day at the plate. Hailey Ferguson had two doubles, an RBI and a walk.

Noe Barawis Steal Record Update
Noe Barawis had four more stolen bases today bringing her total to 46 bags in 46 attempts. The all-time record for stolen bases in a single season in the Cascade Collegiate Conference is 55 done by Kelsey Randall of Southern Oregon in the 2018 season. There is six more games to go for Barawis to get to that mark or go above it.
