Noe Barawis Comes That Much Closer to History as the Knights Dominate the Warriors

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 18th, 2025

Salem, Ore.| Warner Pacific Knights Softball swept the Corban Warriors in their second set of double headers today on a beautiful day.

In game one the Knights kept it close, scoring two late to secure the win. In game two, the idea of close was none existent as the Knights took care of business in five innings, winning 16-4 earning their first run rule win of the season.

Game one
In game one Corban University drew first blood in the bottom of the third. This however was their only run of the game. Then in the top of the fifth, thanks to a Skylar Groesbeck single, the Knights scored two, which was enough for the win. The Knights hitting was a little off in game one, with only three hits being logged. The standout athlete was pitcher Briana Munoz who went seven innings, with only one run allowed. She also had two strikeouts.

Game two
In game two the Knights lit the fire and added the gas scoring a season high of 16 runs. The Knights put up four sets of four runs as they scored four in the first, second, fourth, and fifth innings to run rule Corban. In the circle, Kili Makanani allowed four earned runs with four strikeouts and another win.

Offensively, more than one Knight stood out. Briana Munoz had two hits with a triple, walk, and RBI. Kili Makanani had two hits with a triple and two RBI's. Hailey Ferguson had two hits with two RBI's, and Mailli Bode had two hits with five RBI's. On the base path, Noe Barawis stole five bags and found herself within striking distance of the Cascade Collegiate Conference record.

Noe Barawis Steal Record Update
Barawis didn't have any stolen bases in the first game today but made up for it with five in game two. With today's five stolen bases, Barawis pulls ever closer to the Cascade Collegiate Conference record for the most stolen bases in a single season since 1993 when the CCC became an NAIA affiliated conference. The record is 55 done by Kelsey Randall of Southern Oregon back in 2018. Barawis now has 51 in 51 total attempts. She will have four games next weekend to either tie the record or own it all on her own.

Up Next
The Knights will return home for their final series of the regular season. These games will be against the Beacons of Bushnell University on Friday April 25th and Saturday April 26th. Friday's games are set to start at 10am and 12pm. Saturday will start at 11am and 1pm with Senior day festivities beginning before game one.
