Bodo Calderon Scores Tenth Goal in Loss to EOU

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 19th, 2025

Portland, OR.| The Warner Pacific University Men's Soccer team falls short to Eastern Oregon University as they lose 2-1 this Sunday, snapping their three-game win streak

This evening's game was a close one, with both teams almost in a stalemate when it came down to their offense and defense; however, Eastern Oregon was able to stop the hot Knights with a goal by JJ Gallardo in the 50th minute to seal the game for the Mountaineers. The goal that got them started this evening was by Marco Bravo in the 18th minute. For the Knights on offense,Bodo Calderon in the 81st minute scored an impressive goal to bring WPU within a goal of the Mountaineers. Bodo had a penalty kick in which he was 5-5 in those opportunities going into it. On this one, he finally missed one but being the smart player he is, he was able to grab his own rebound and knock it past the keeper for the unassisted goal.

This was a very chippy game as it was a match between two teams that met in the semifinals of last year's CCC Tournament. There were five yellow cards handed out with Eastern getting four and the Knights receiving just one. Another stat to take notice of is the chase for goal leader in the NAIA. Bodo Calderon, who still sits in second with ten is only 2 goals away from tying with first place.
