FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 15th, 2025
Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Women's basketball hosted their first game of 2026 and fell short to Southern Oregon University 75-49.
Eliza DiGiulio led the Raiders with 17 points on an efficient 7-12 shooting, while Lydia Traore had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sage Winslow and Taylee Clements both added nine points tonight to assist the Raiders. Southern Oregon came to Portland to ball shooting 61.5% in the first quarter to jump out to an early lead and continued that momentum through the evening. The Raiders were almost perfect from the line going 11-12.
Warner Pacific struggled to find consistency on offense despite strong performances from
KJ Custer and
Alex Saunders. Custer led the Knights with 12 points on 4-6 shooting including two three-pointers, while Saunders had eight points and two rebounds. The Knights had efficient third and fourth quarters, but handicapped themselves with poor shooting in the first half and missed free throws.
"I appreciated the second half competitive drive," Head Coach Jimmy Smith said. "We're going to take that energy and focus on Saturday against OIT."
Next Up
The Knights hope to get it going again on Saturday and turn the page as they're once again home but this time against Oregon Tech University. Tipoff is set to be at 3pm.
