Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific University women's volleyball program is excited to announce the addition of true freshman hitter Evangelia Voulgaridis to the Knights.
A native of Kailua, Hawaii, Voulgaridis comes to Warner Pacific after attending Le Jardin Academy. The versatile athlete will make the move from the islands to Portland to begin her collegiate career with the Knights.
During her time at Le Jardin Academy, Voulgaridis competed as a multi-sport athlete, playing three years of softball and two years of tennis. Her experience across multiple sports helped develop the athleticism and versatility she will bring to the Warner Pacific volleyball program.
Voulgaridis will join the Knights as an outside hitter, where her ability to contribute in all six rotations gives Warner Pacific another versatile option on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.
Head Coach Nerisa Laban is excited about the different ways Voulgaridis can contribute to the Knights.
"Evangelia is a six-rotation outside hitter that can pass and play defense," Laban said. "She moves well to get to the pin. Her offense will help us on either pin. We are excited to have her join WPU."
Off the court, Voulgaridis plans to pursue a degree in nursing at Warner Pacific while beginning her career as a collegiate student-athlete.
The Knights are excited to welcome Voulgaridis to the Warner Pacific family and look forward to seeing the Hawaii native develop and make an impact throughout her career in Portland.
