Local Drag Racer Peyton DeWhitt is Now a Knight

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 20th, 2026

Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific University women's volleyball program is excited to announce the addition of true freshman hitter Peyton DeWhitt to the Knights.

A native of Oregon City, Oregon, DeWhitt joins Warner Pacific after attending Estacada High School. The local standout will remain close to home as she takes the next step in her academic and athletic career with the Knights.

During her high school career, DeWhitt earned recognition for her play on the court. She received 2023 Tri-Valley Conference Honorable Mention honors before earning Valley Ten League Honorable Mention recognition in 2026.

DeWhitt will join Warner Pacific as an outside hitter, bringing the ability to contribute in all six rotations. Her versatility allows her to impact the match at the net while also contributing in serve receive and defensively in the back row.

Head Coach Nerisa Laban is excited about the competitive presence DeWhitt will bring to the Knights.

"Peyton is a six-rotation outside hitter that will bring a strong competitive offensive presence at the pin along with her back-row serve/receive game," Laban said. "She also has great court awareness. We are excited to have her join our squad."

Off the court, DeWhitt plans to pursue a degree in nursing at Warner Pacific while beginning her collegiate volleyball career. A fun fact about DeWhitt is that she drag races at the Woodburn Dragstrip.

The Knights are excited to welcome DeWhitt to the Warner Pacific family and look forward to seeing the local standout continue her development both on the court and in the classroom.
