Warner Pacific Falls Drops Two Games to Pacific Lutheran

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 14th, 2026

Tacoma, Wash.| The Warner Pacific Softball team hit the road once again and faced off against Pacific Lutheran University in a non-conference double-header and went on to lose both games by final scores of 10-0 and 5-3.

Game one
Pacific Lutheran put the game out of reach almost immediately, erupting for nine runs in the opening frame. A two-run homer by P. Garcia sparked the surge. The last run came in the third inning which put the score at 10-0 handing the Knights their third loss via mercy rule.

Warner Pacific had very few opportunities, managing only one hit in the game. Left fielder Mailli Bode accounted for the team's lone base knock, finishing 1-for-2 at the plate. Ryleah Torres and Jordyn Rosario each reached base via walks, but the Knights were not able to get anything else. Kaylee Pokorny started this game and would get hit around for seven of those earned runs and was followed by Alex Brooks who threw 3.2 innings on five hits, two walks, and two runs.

Game Two
The Knights had a much stronger performance in game two as they jumped out early with a three-run first inning, highlighted by RBI singles from Ryleah Torres and Madelyn Lahey as well as a sacrifice fly from Giselle Beriault to make it 3–0. Pacific Lutheran answered right away with a two-run homer in the bottom half of the first before tying the game in the second on an RBI single from B. Sarae. The Lutes completed the comeback in the fourth inning scoring two more runs.

At the plate, Torres led Warner Pacific with a perfect 2-for-2 performance and an RBI, while Noe Barawis also had a strong day going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. Madeyln Lahey added an RBI single, and Mailli Bode contributed a double and scored once as the Knights collected seven hits overall. In the circle, Kili Makanani threw a complete game effort, throwing six innings while allowing five runs, four earned on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts keeping Warner Pacific within striking distance despite the loss.

Next Up
The Knights head to Newburg as they hunt for their first win. They are scheduled to play in a double header against George Fox University games at 11:30am and 1:30pm at the Curtis and Margaret Morse Athletic Fields.
