Portland , Ore.| The Warner Pacific Women's Basketball team hosted Evergreen State College and got a monumental win with the final score being 71-45 clinching a playoff spot.
The Knights had a big lead tonight, especially after halftime hitting 70% of their shots in the third quarter. Their hot shooting helped them get a big lead that would eventually put the game away. Warner Pacific was led by
Shielteal Watah who delivered a dominant 24-point game on 8-of-11 shooting, nailing four three-pointers.
Skylar Groesbeck added 14 points and
Kiki Brooks had nine of her own to boost that lead.
"Tonight was a great team win," head coach Jimmy Smith said. "When you have 23 team assists on 25 made field goals, you know the ball is moving with pace. Senior Night is a big game for us so we will look to use tonight's success as a building block.
Evergreen struggled to find consistent offense more importantly in that second half while Warner was hot. Jenna Glenzel led the Geoducks with 15 points and 12 rebounds securing a double-double. Habiba Adam added 13 points and 10 boards of her own. Despite them putting the work in off the glass the Knights second half momentum and the Geoducks low shooting percentage was the deciding factor for this game.
