FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 28th, 2026
Eugene, Ore.| Warner Pacific Softball finished their four game series against Bushnell University and went one and one today with a loss in game one and a win in game two. The final scores were 5-4, and 4-2.
Game Three
The Knights got it started right away in the first inning scoring two runs. Bushnell scored a run in the bottom of the first to make the score 2-1. The Knights would add on in the third and fourth innings with solo home runs stretching the lead to 4–1. Bushnell slowly chipped away, responding with a solo homer in the fifth and then would get a comeback going in the seventh. A sacrifice fly cut the lead to one before a two-run single through the left side walked it off and completed the comeback.
Offensively, Warner Pacific showed flashes of power and situational hitting highlighted by home runs from Kili Makanani and Brylee-Rose Demello and a multi-hit game with an RBI from Madelyn Lahey. The Knights put runners on base early but struggled to extend rallies late managing just two hits over the final three innings as Bushnell's bullpen shut the door. In the circle, Makanani delivered a solid outing, allowing six hits and five runs in which only three were earned over 6.2 innings while limiting hard contact for much of the game. Defensive miscues and Bushnell's timely seventh-inning it was enough to complete to come back and walk it off in game three.
Game Four
Despite this game being against a conference opponent, this game would be a non-conference game. That didn't matter for the Knights though as there was a chance to end the day on a positive note and they got it started in the second inning scoring one run and would continue that in the third and the fourth. Finally, the beacons had enough in the bottom of the fourth and would rally for two runs making the game three to two. The Knights would score one more run in the seventh and that would be enough to end the day with a win.
On offense, the bats would come alive with 12 hits but missed out on some opportunities leaving seven runners on base. Noelani Barawis would lead the team with three hits, one RBI, and a stolen base. Ryleah Torres and Giselle Beriault would each get two hits with Brylee-rose Demello and Nikki O' Reilly each getting a hit. In the circle, Kaylee Pokorny would go seven strong innings only allowing two runs with two strikeouts.
