The Knights Fall to #6 SOU in Games One and Two

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 25th, 2026

Milwaukie, Ore.| Warner Pacific Softball had a tough task today playing two games against sixth ranked Southern Oregon and lost both games today by a combined 20-0 at Milwaukie High School.

Game One
The Knights in game one really battled hard holding the Raiders potent offense to just one run through four innings. Kili Makanani was in the circle to start and even though she tied the line of having the game break open early, she pitched out of trouble. Eventually though, the dam broke and the game went very much the Raiders way. The Raiders after scoring one run in both the fifth and sixth innings scored six runs in the final frame. The scoring for the Raiders in the seventh inning was capped off by a Glory Pistole home run to left field. The Knights went quietly in their half of the seventh and lost 9-0.

The Knights were held to just two hits with both Ryleah Torres and Giselle Beriault checking in with a knock. The Knights didn't walk a single time and struck out 15 times at the plate. The Raiders belted 12 hits and only struck out twice putting together great at-bats. Makanani was the starter as before mentioned and went 6.1 innings, giving up ten hits resulting in eight runs in which six were earned. Makanani walked two and struck out four. Alex Brooks finished the day in the circle and gave up one earned run on two hits. Ayla Davies picked up the win for the Raiders going the full seven innings giving up just two hits. Those two runners were the only ones that Davies allowed on base.

Game Two
The Knights in game two didn't fare very well either losing this one 11-0 behind some big innings for the Raiders offense. Southern Oregon didn't waste any time scoring two runs in the first followed by a big five run second inning putting the game out of reach early. The Raiders were held scoreless in the third inning which would be the only inning in the contest that they came off the field having not scored a run. The Knights were able to double their hit total from the first game finishing with four hits in this one. Jordyn Rosario, Skylar Groesbeck, Nikki O'Reilly, and Kili Makanani each finished with one hit apiece.

Macey Tovar got the start for the Knights and wasn't long for this game, only going an inning giving up six hits and five earned runs. Nia Tate pitched the rest of the contest and gave up seven hits and six runs in which only three were earned. The Knights defense didn't help their pitchers in this one committing three errors. All the errors committed were later turned into runs for the Raiders. Lexi Ramirez went the distance in the circle for the Raiders, giving up just the four hits and striking out eight Knights hitters. This game ended early when the Raiders surpassed the eight runs or more total through five innings that resulted in a mercy rule win.
