Knights Fall in Three Sets to the Eagles

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – September 25, 2026

Kirkland, Wash. | The Warner Pacific University women's volleyball team traveled to Kirkland Friday evening for a matchup against Northwest University. The Knights put together a strong offensive effort and battled closely through the first two sets, but the Eagles ultimately secured the match in straight sets, 25-23, 25-21, 25-15.

Warner Pacific went toe-to-toe with Northwest in the opening frame, recording 13 team kills behind the offensive efforts of Tayah-Anne Toa and Josie Schultz. The Knights hit .184 as a team and stayed within striking distance throughout the set. Northwest, however, created just enough separation behind a balanced attack led by Jaelyn Moeva and Haylee Koetje to take the tightly contested opening set, 25-23.

The Knights continued to apply pressure in the second set, once again putting down 13 kills while posting a match-best .186 hitting percentage. Amor Rapoza helped direct the offense and provided a spark from the service line, while Daisci Burrows contributed on both sides of the ball. Despite Warner Pacific's consistent attack, Northwest answered with 15 kills and used its service pressure to secure the second frame, 25-21.

Northwest was able to create separation in the third set, recording 16 kills on its way to closing out the match with a 25-15 victory. Warner Pacific continued to battle at the net, finishing the night with four team blocks behind the efforts of Burrows and Schultz, but the Eagles' offense proved too much down the stretch.

Toa paced the Warner Pacific attack with a team-high nine kills, while Schultz followed with eight kills and Rapoza added seven. Rapoza also accounted for all four of the Knights' service aces.

Burrows and Schultz each recorded a team-high three blocks to lead Warner Pacific's effort at the net. Burrows turned in an all-around performance with 13 assists and a team-high 13 digs, while Rapoza added 11 assists and seven digs. Maya Moreno contributed nine digs from the back row.

As a team, Warner Pacific finished the match with 34 kills, 28 assists, four blocks, four service aces and 41 digs, while hitting .139 overall.
