Knight Men Shutout by RMC

Box Score

SPOKANE, Wash. - Warner Pacific conceded two second period goals to Rocky Mountain College today in the final game of the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge in Spokane.

In a physical contest where six yellow cards were handed out by the referee, The Knights held firm for the first 45 minutes and had several scoring chances of their own. In particular, Rick Carmolinga struck a low shot in the 38th minute that was kept out by a diving save from Bear keeper Joachim Soderstrom.

RMC finally broke through in the 57th minute thanks to a strike from Oliver Gore, who controlled a long pass and delivered a well placed attempt past Drew Bonifacio.

Gore tapped home again just a few seconds before the final whistle to give the Bears the 2-0 win.

"Overall I am pleased with the weekend," said coach Bernie Fagan. "We were very competitive with two very good teams, and looked the part of a quality squad for much of time out there. The guys did take a few knocks and we're nursing some injuries, but we are encouraged about where we are headed."
