PORTLAND, Ore. – No. 11 ranked Warner Pacific continued their hot shooting, hitting 16 of 33 attempts from three point range en route to a 86-55 win over Northwest Christian tonight in a Cascade Conference contest.

Doug Thomas scored a career high 27 points for the host Knights, who have scorched the nets at a 50.8 percent clip from three point range (31 of 61) in their last two games.

The blowout score was a bit of a surprise after the run of play in the opening minutes of the game, which saw the visiting Beacons build a seven point lead (13-7). Jordan Miller slashed to the hoop for a pair of buckets and Trevor Parker made a jumper and a trey during the run to give NCU the early advantage. After the Knights called timeout to regroup, the three pointers started to rain down from Thomas and Marcus Moore, who each hit 4 of 5 attempts in the first half. Ryan Parks (3 of 7) and Coletun Tarr (2 of 3) also contributed to the shooting display.

The hot shooting was part of a 20-1 run by WPC in the middle of the first period that stretched a 24-23 lead into a 44-24 advantage with 4:14 showing on the clock. Parker finally scored in the paint for NCU to stop the bleeding, but the Knights were able to take a 55-31 lead into the locker rooms. WPC finished the period shooting 66 percent from the field (20 of 30).

Warner Pacific cooled down considerably in the second half, but the Beacons managed just 27 percent shooting and could not make any headway on the offensive end of the floor. The final margin of 31 points proved to be the largest of the game for Warner Pacific.

Parks finished with 19 points for Warner Pacific, while Moore added 17 counters. Leading scorer Stephen Harris was held to six points, but grabbed a game high 10 rebounds.

NCU was led by Parker's total of 18 points, while Jordan Miller tallied eight points and seven rebounds.

Warner Pacific improved to 17-4 overall and 8-1 in Cascade Conference games. The Beacons fell to 7-15 and 1-8.
