Knight Men Fall at Concordia, 4-1

PORTLAND, Ore. - After a game tying goal from Jameson Jones, Concordia scored three in the second half to send Cavaliers to a 4-1 win over Warner Pacific on Saturday.

With the result, Concordia moved to 13-4-0 on the season and 10-3-0 in Cascade Collegiate Conference play. Warner Pacific fell to 4-11-0 overall and 3-10-0 in league action.

CU freshman Timur Zhividze put the Cavs up 1-0 in the 13th minute of play after feeds by Septi Danciu and Michael Chamberlain.

Moments into the second half, the Knights squared the contest at 1-1 with a successful penalty kick, the first allowed by the Cavaliers all season, by Jameson James.

The Cavs distanced themselves from there on goals from Danciu in the 56th and 77th minutes, and Chamberlain in the 65th minute.

Culpan returned for his second assist, and fifth of the season, on Danciu's second goal of the night.

Overall, Concordia outshot Warner Pacific 17-to-8 which included a 10-to-2 advantage in the second half. The Knights created seven corner kicks to six for the home side.

Scott Gross earned the win while playing the first 77 minutes in front of the net for the Cavs. Arne Niemmann closed out the contest for Concordia while Dorian Lair took the loss despite collecting five saves for the Knights.
