The Short Story: Warner Pacific and Johnson and Wales battled to a scoreless draw today in Portland. The teams were treated to several downpours of rain during the contest which made for slick conditions on the artificial turf. Neither team found much headway in the attacking third, as both the Knight and Cougar back lines were up to the task. JWU keeper Trevor Shepherd made five saves to keep WP scoreless, while Knight netminder Joe White earned the clean sheet for his side.

How It Happened

JWU nearly went ahead in the 2nd minute as Tyler Glenn cracked a shot from 15 yards that rattled the crossbar.
The Knight defense settled in and from there and allowed just one more shot in the first period.
Warner Pacific managed to outshoot JWU 6-2 in the first period, but none of the scoring efforts from the Knights truly troubled Shepherd.
The second period was again dominated by solid defense from both squads - each team could muster only four attempts at goal.
• The most dangerous threat came from the Cougars' Jesus Mojardin, whose rolling shot in the 88th minute clanged off the post and then was cleared by the Knight defense.
• The pair of overtime sessions yielded no breakthrough and no serious chances at goal.
