PORTLAND, Ore. - Concordia scored a goal in each half to ease past Warner Pacific tonight in Cascade Conference men's soccer action at Delta Park.

The Basics

Score: Concordia 2, Warner Pacific 0
 Records: CU (3-1-0, 2-0 CCC), WPC (2-2-2, 1-1 CCC)
 Location: Strasser Field, Portland, Ore.
The Short Story: In a battle of Portland squads, it was Concordia coming out on top with a 2-0 win at Strasser Field. The visiting Cavaliers mamaged to squeeze a pair of goals past Knight keeper Joe White, who made six stops on the night. CU remains unbeaten in CCC play at 2-0, while the Knights fell to 1-1.

How it Happened

Concordia pressed forward early and generated three corner kicks in the first 20 minutes.
• Kevin Fischer got CU on the board in the 33rd minute, taking a slotted pass from Tucker Bufton and tucking the shot into the net.
• The host Knights were on their heels occasionally for the rest of the half, but withstood four more shots and two more corner kicks without too much trouble.
WP gained some footing after the break, and Mario Guizar hit the crossbar and forced Cavalier keeper Arne Niermann into a diving save in quick succession.
Niermann again came up big with a denial of a breakaway opportunity from Vladan Valski.
CU scored their second goal with just eight seconds to play, as William Mecier tapped in right in front of goal.
