PORTLAND, Ore. - Warner Pacific men's soccer took the pitch for the first time in 2016, debuting their new look squad versus University of Fraser Valley in an exhibition game today at Damazo Field.
It truly was a new look for the Knights, with just one returning starter (
Johannes Reiber) featured in the starting 11. The teams played three 30 minute periods in the mid-day heat, and ended the day with two goals each. The scores for WPC came from Reiber and
Isaiah Kim.
Harry Pilkington provided excellent service from the right flank on both goals.
"I thought we looked good for most of the day and scored two nice goals," said coach
Chris Thoms. "We have lots of talented young players this season who can provide quality, but will need to learn how play 90 minutes of mistake-free soccer. We'll have our ups and downs this season while we learn to minimize our errors."
