PORTLAND | Warner Pacific University Women's Soccer Head Coach
Josh Westermann announced this morning, April 29
th, the signing of freshman forward Jackie Castellanos to the 2022 Women's Soccer recruiting class.
"Jackie is a very exciting signing for our program. She will add another dimension to our midfield and create many goal scoring opportunities for us over her time here," Coach Westermann began with sharing.
"She is a very talented attacking midfielder with a high soccer IQ. She is dangerous in the final third and will be able to find bodies for us in front of the net," Westermann went on to say.
Castellanos joins Warner Pacific after a pre-collegiate career of being a two-sport athlete at Chiawana High School in her hometown of Pasco, Wash., where the 5'2 forward played four years of Varsity Girls' Soccer, along with four years of Varsity Track & Field.
Academically, Castellanos excelled in the classroom just as much as on the field, becoming a Scholar-Athlete while at Chiawana High School.
Castellanos will be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology while at Warner Pacific, and will be joining Coach Westermann and the WPU Women's Soccer team over the summer for off-season workouts.
