The Knights Extinguish Bushnell's Beacon

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – October 14th, 2023

Eugene, Ore. | The Knights won tonight's game against Bushnell University by a final score of 2-0 in Eugene, Oregon.

The first goal of the game was scored by the always reliable, Hunter Leach, in the 27th minute and the second was scored by Pedro Torrest in the 79th minute assisted by Jose Robles.

Josepher Juares-Cruz was in the net for the Knights tonight and pitched the shutout saving 4 Beacon shots along the way. The Knights peppered the zone with shots shooting 22 of them including 6 on goal.

"I was proud of our team today in a few key areas," Head Coach, Troy Ready said. "Though we didn't put the game to rest until late, we really limited them to one chance through 90 minutes. Our players also executed some tactical shifts that we made which enabled us to use our depth by inseerting more players into the match. Our target was 6 points on the road, but 4 points continues to propel us in gaining momentum towards post-season play. We now finish our conference schedule at home with 4 straight matches."

The Knights now move to 8-3-2 overall and 5-2-2 in conference play. The Knights are in sole place of 5th place in the Cascade Collegiate Conference with four games left to play in the regular season.
