Portland, Ore. | The Knights came into today's game against the College of Idaho expecting one thing. That thing was to win and secure no worse than 2
nd place in the conference going into the playoffs.
The Knights met their expectation with a 3-1 victory over the College of Idaho on Senior Day. What a show it was for the Knights as they started the scoring with Senior Day participant,
Hunter Leach, who hit a huge penalty kick from about 20 yards out that curled into the top right corner of the goal. This goal was in the 19
th minute, and it broke the ice in today's match.
After the first goal, the Yotes showed grit and met the challenge by tying the score in the 51
st minute. The Knights,
Chanin Orlandin, continues to impress not only defensively but offensively as well when he scored the 2
nd goal this one assisted by
Hunter Leach. The game was then an intense one with a lot of physical contact that was allowed other than the three yellow cards handed out. The Knights expertly put the game on ice in the 73
rd minute by
Bryce McCole.
"I'm extremely excited about how our team is playing," Head Coach
Troy Ready said. "We're performing better than we have all season heading into postseason games. Today was extremely meaningful for me to celebrate many seniors that have invested so much into our program.
Hugo Mendoza who has been of upmost class and character, Jose Ochoa Delgado making some massive early saves while
Hunter Leach scored a magnificent free kick along with adding the game winning assist. Our other 2 seniors represented during the match as well.
Andrew Her who's been exceptional all season, and
Miguel Andalon-Ordaz, who in my opinion, is the best defensive midfielder in the conference, was brilliant again. I love these young men and love watching them compete. It was a day of delighting, celebrating, and savoring our team success."

The Knights now enter the playoffs with a whole heap of momentum. They have guaranteed themselves at least 2
nd place in the conference but could win the conference if Eastern Oregon loses 2 out of their next 3 games. Whatever the case, the Knights have a lot to be incredibly proud of.
