Newberg, Ore.| The Knights had a busy day starting out with Media Day out at Eastside Timbers Complex and then had a 7pm kickoff with NCAA DIII school, George Fox University.
The Knights hadn't played a game since losing in the final round of PK's in last years conference semifinals game against the College of Idaho. Needless to say, they were hungry to get out there and put up a good result and put up a good result they did winning 1-0. The Knights might've only won by a single goal but they absolutely dominated the game putting up 10 shots to the Bruins 2 and out-shooting the Bruins on goal 3-1. The lone and decisive goal for the Knights came from freshman,
Abe Fuchs who banged it in the lower left quadrant of the goal right before halftime in the 37
th minute. It was a shot that hit the Bruins goalkeeper and squirted free from his grasp into the back of the net. The assist went to
Chanin Orlandin.
The game from there was over. The Knights played with a lot of effort, heart, and passion as is said in their pregame chant. The ball was kept on their offensive side for the majority of the second half which frustrated the Bruins immensely resulting in six total yellow cards for the Bruins even though this was an exhibition game for them. When the final horn blew, it was total domination for the Knights roaring to a 1-0 record.
The Knights defensively was so efficiently stingy that they only allowed one shot on goal in which goalkeeper,
Josepher Juarez-Cruz stopped without a problem.
