TACOMA, Wash. | On a light weekend of competition where most of the WPU Track and Field team ran off events or took the weekend off, those who competed set some personal bests and many placed high in their events at the PLU Invitational.

The Run Down

Brittany Coleman won the long jump and set a new personal best of 5.11m (16'9.25"). She will move back to her primary event, the triple jump, next week.
Indya Price placed second in the 1500 in 5:01.12, then doubled back in the 800 to place third in 2:23.78. She will focus on a fast 800 next week.
Jett Pharn-Cromb placed second in both the 100 and 200 in 11.06 and 22.55 respectively, both season bests.Â
Kynzie DeLeon ran her first steeplechase, finishing 4
th in 12:14.51, which is a great start in the new event which she has barely practiced and appears to have some great potential in.
Cade Kooch set a personal best in the men's 1500, placing third in 4:15.34 while
Rafael Orozco placed 9
th in a personal best of 4:27.23.

th on the men's hammer with a mark of 38.22m (125' 5") and 7
th in the men's shot at 12.21m (40' .75").
Lindsay MacKenzie placed 7
th in the women's 1500 with a time of 5:45.50.
Carlos Nelson placed 9
th in the men's long jump with a mark of 5.71m(18'9").
Pilate Spacal placed 10
th in the men's 200 with a time of 24.80.

The Knights will return to action on two meets this coming week with
Savannah Proske competing on the Linfield Heptathlon on Monday and Tuesday, then the rest of the team will compete on the Wes Cook Invite at George Fox University next Saturday, April 17 in Newberg, OR.
