The Warner Pacific track teams performed well at the Wes Cook Invitational today, winning three events, finishing well in many others, and adding a number of new conference leading marks as well as other personal bests.
Â
The Run Down
Leading the way was senior jumper
Brittany Coleman, winning the women's triple jump with an automatic national qualifying mark of 11.94m (39' 2.5"), the sixth best mark in the nation and the best mark in the conference by almost 4 feet.
Â
"Brittany had a great series of jumps today and she just needs a few other things to happen to finally get the school record, which is the strongest women's record on our board. She should get some good opportunities in the next month or so," said Head Coach
Randy Dalzell.
Â
Also having a great day was
Savannah Proske, winning the long jump with a new personal best of 5.31m (17' 5.25"), a mark that leads the conference. She also set a personal best of 16.65 seconds in the 100m hurdles. She will be competing in the conference heptathlon this coming week, giving her a good opportunity to set a new personal best in that event, or groups of seven events as it is.
Â
"Savannah competed in the Linfield heptathlon last Monday and Tuesday, finishing second overall, then came back today and set two personal bests in the long jump and 100m hurdles, which really sets her up well for our conference heptathlon coming up later this week," said Coach Dalzell.
Â
Another event winner who ran a season best was sprinter
Jett Pharn-Cromb, who won the men's 100m with a mark of 10.95 seconds.
