The Run Down
Senior triple jumper
Brittany Coleman, who is ranked ninth in the nation, and sophomore 800m runner
Indya Price, who is ranked 14
th in the nation, will head to Gulf Shores, Alabama next week for the NAIA National Track and Field Championships. Â However, sophomore heptathlete
Savannah Proske, who was also an automatic qualifier, will not be able to compete because she is at her National Guard basic training camp at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and cannot miss any part of that training. Additionally, sophomore javelin thrower Angelo Flores, who only threw at one meet before hurting his elbow, was a provisional qualifier, but will take a medical red-shirt and cannot return to competition this season.
Â
"We are really excited for Brittany and Indya and feel like both have a good shot at being All-Americans at the meet. We wish Savannah and Angelo would also have been able to go, but they will both get future opportunities and will be back stronger than ever next year," said Head Coach
Randy Dalzell.
