ASHLAND, Ore. | Sophomore
Savannah Proske set a new school record of 4334 points in the women's heptathlon at the Cascade Collegiate Conference Multi-event Championships, breaking Breanna Hargrave's old record of 4158 from 2006. Proske set personal bests in four of the seven events over the two day event, finishing fourth out of fifteen competitors and moving up to #9 in the nation.
Â
"Savannah had a great two day effort in all seven events, getting personal bests in four of the seven and setting a personal best overall by almost 200 points. Our conference is really strong in the women's heptathlon with two All-American female multi-eventers and another very strong freshman, so her performance was very likely a national qualifying mark," said Head Coach
Randy Dalzell.

The Run Down
The first day Proske started out by setting a personal best of 16.60 seconds in the 100m hurdles. She then won the high jump with a season best of 1.62m (5' 3.75"). Next, she threw a new personal best of 9.16m (30' 1") in the shot. She finished day 1 with a season best of 27.13 seconds in the 200m.
Â
On day two, Proske added even more to her point total by starting the day by winning the long jump with a mark of 5.22m (17'1.5"), then proceeded to throw a huge personal best of 34.48m (113' 1") in the javelin. She finished the last event, the 800m, with another personal best of 2:39.78 seconds.
Â
"Savannah competed very well, improving by 198 points and having a great conference meet. From her first heptathlon this season she improved over 500 points, which is an astounding amount," said Assistant Coach
Moreland Anderson.
Â
"It was a fun meet and I'm happy that I got to represent Warner Pacific so well as the meet. I want to thank all the coaches that worked with me this season to help me get to this point," said Proske.
