Knights Split Day with Yotes

Caldwell, Idaho.| Warner Pacific Softball started their four game series today on the road against The College of Idaho. They split in their games today with game one being in favor of the Knights 4-1 and game two going to the Yotes 11-3.

Game One

The Knights got it going early taking advantage of miscues from the Yotes walking in two runs. The Yotes would get one back in the third and be their only run of the day. Warner Pacific extended that lead once again on an RBI single in the fourth. To round up the game Knights would get a final insurance run in the top of the sixth to finish of the win.

Offensively, Apart from the Knights taking advantage of the miscues they would also be active in the hit column with 10 led by a  standout performance from Brylee-Rose Demello who went a perfect 4-4 at the plate. Sophia Cherry would get herself two hits with two runs scored and an RBI while Mailli Bode and Giselle Beriault each got clutch hits to drive in runs. In the circle, Kili Makanani would take this game for herself, going the distance allowing three hits with two strikeouts.

Game Two

College of Idaho got on the board early and often getting it started in the first with an RBI single. Then for another two runs in the second. The Yotes added another run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth, before the Knights would score their first run in the top of the fifth. Breaking the game open in the bottom fifth scoring four runs with multiple hits. The knights would get some back in the sixth scoring two runs on a home run. To finish this game of and get the mercy in the bottom of the sixth the Yotes would score three more runs to complete it.

Offensively, the Knights had less offense in this game with only four hits. RBI's coming from Rose Demello on a two run home run. Mailli Bode would get an RBI as well. In the circle, Kaylee Pokorny took the loss after allowing three runs in 1.2 innings, with Alex Brooks providing some relief but was hurt by errors, giving up four runs in which one was earned over 2.1 innings. Nia Tate closed things out giving up four more runs in 1.2 innings of work as the Yotes offense continued to apply pressure.

Next Up

The Knights had solid day today and will finish their series with the Yotes tomorrow. Once again, both games will be played at Symms Field pitch one at 11 am MT.
