Knights Soccer Signs Hunter Smith

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – June 4th, 2026
Portland, Ore.| The Warner Pacific Knights men's soccer program is excited to announce the signing of true freshman recruit Hunter Smith for the upcoming season.

Smith joins the Knights from Daytona Beach, Florida, where he is currently completing his high school education at Spruce Creek High School. Making the move from the East Coast to the Pacific Northwest, Smith brings a strong work ethic and passion for growth both on and off the field.

During his time at Spruce Creek High School, Smith competed in soccer for a couple of seasons, developing his skills and gaining valuable experience in a competitive environment. His commitment to improving as a player and willingness to embrace new challenges made him an attractive addition to the Warner Pacific program.

Head Coach Troy Ready is excited about Smith's future and the qualities he will bring to the Knights.

"Hunter has a passion for the game that will continue to serve him well as he makes the jump from high school to collegiate soccer," Ready said. "He is a modern right back that can add an effective attacking dynamic while still maintaining his defensive responsibilities."

In the classroom, Smith plans to pursue a degree in computer science while also earning a minor in psychology. His academic interests reflect a curiosity for both technology and human behavior, providing a unique combination of disciplines as he prepares for his future career.

The Knights are thrilled to welcome Smith to Portland and look forward to seeing his continued development on the field, in the classroom, and throughout the Warner Pacific community. As he begins his collegiate journey, Smith will have the opportunity to make an impact while representing the Knights with pride.
