The Rundown
In yet another exhibition match, the Knights took the court to bout against the NCAA Division II Saint Martin's University Saints. After a game just three days earlier where the Knights hung in the game, Saturday seemed to sing a different tune. Without the help of guard
Kylie Guelsdorf, who went down with an ankle injury on Thursday, the team struggled from the field, shooting just 33% and 35% from the line as opposed to the Saints' 41% and 70%, respectively.
Despite finding it difficult to find the nylon, the Knights hung in there the first quarter trailing by just five but by the end of the first half, the Saints had extended the lead to 14. A deficit that proved difficult for the Knights to overcome and the Saints pulled away with the win.
The offense may have been hard to come by for Warner Pac, but their defense came up big; forcing 18 Saints turnovers, while only giving up 13.Â
The team's leading scorer from last year, and 2020 All-American
Gabriella Bruno led the Knights in scoring with 15, followed by
Anna Farner's nine.
Lynden Harry followed closely behind with eight of her own and
Nicole Mickelson with seven. Overall, seven Knights got on the board.Â
